You can now use a USB credit card reader to capture credit card numbers during bidder registration or checkout. This helps you save time by swiping the card rather than having to manually enter the card number and date details.

We have tested the system with readers from USB Swiper on both PCs and Macs. Other readers should work, but if not please contact us at support@charityauctionorganizer.com with details of the model.

Support for swiping credit cards is only shown if you have enabled Stripe.com integration on your account.

The new Spring 2013 release of the site is now live, with significant improvements in the user interface consistency and new features.

The highlights of this release includes:

• Ability to mass edit any column in a report view
• Multi-currency support: UK pounds and Euros are supported
• Improved usability on the bidder checkout page
• More consistent styling across all pages

The previous reelase of the site will continue to be available until June 30, 2013 at previous.charityauctionorganizer.com.

An updated offline client to match the look of the new web site will be available in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime the old offline client will continue to work against the new site.

A small new feature: you can set the list of external payment options displayed on the checkout and record payment screens. This lets you hide options you won't be using to help speed up checkout.

On the details tab of the home page there is a setting under the advanced section to 'Payment options'. You can enter a comma seperated list of payment options, and append a * to the option you want selected by default.

For example, if you are only accepting cash and checks, then enter: Cash,Check*

You can now invite bidders to register by email with via a personalized bidder registration page.

A beta version of the next release is now available for testing at beta.charityauctionorganizer.com

The beta release uses the same database as the production release, so any changes that you make to the data will affect both versions.
